Our Services

Our objective

The aim of Occupational Therapy is to support individuals to maximise their independence, remain safe and confident completing daily activities that are important to them.

These activities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Personal care activities such as showering and toileting.

  • Moving about the home; accessing the house and garden, collecting the mail, safely standing from the lounge or toilet.

  • Domestic tasks including preparing a meal or completing laundry.

  • Accessing the community to attend appointments, meet friends or grocery shopping.

  • Leisure activities; crafts, socialising or gardening.

What we offer

Tura Beach Occupational Therapy will arrange a comprehensive Occupational Therapy functional assessment in your home, working with you and your significant others to identify the activities that are important for you to complete independently.

The Occupational Therapist’s therapeutic intervention following the assessment may include:

  • Prescription of assistive equipment eg. a shower stool.

  • Recommendation of minor modifications to the home environment including hand rails, bathroom modifications or ramps.

  • Suggesting and practicing alternative methods to complete a task.

  • Falls prevention strategies and education.

  • Education and advice re: managing chronic medical conditions such as arthritis.

  • Liaise with your home care provider and other health care professionals as required.

Tura Beach Occupational Therapy services the Sapphire Coast region, between Bombala, Narooma, and the NSW/Victorian boarder.

Funding for Occupational Therapy home assessment and intervention for people over 65, or over 55 years for individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders, may be available through My Aged Care.
